Minister To made the above statement at the 15th session of the Standing Committee of the National Assembly on September 15, during which the Committee discussed Government's report on the fight against crime and law violations.

The report said that the Government had directed ministries, branches and localities to synchronously implement plans to prevent crime and law violations, contributing to the country's economic, social and foreign development.

In preventing and combating crimes related to social order, the police force investigated 29,169 social order crimes, reaching a rate of 86.57 percent.

Notably, 631 criminal gangs of all kinds were dismantled, in which crimes related to "black credit" activities were strongly suppressed. Additionally, the police force arrested and mobilized the surrender of 4,919 wanted people, including 1,452 hazardous people.

The results of the prevention and combat of crimes related to corruption, economy and smuggling also recorded many positive results with the focus on investigating severe and complicated cases and proactively implementing professional measures to detect, investigate and clarify violations.

Besides, the prevention and combat of crimes related to the environment, natural resources, food safety, and crimes in information technology, telecommunications networks, and drug crimes also had numerous remarkable efforts.

The Government said drug crime had become complicated again since the COVID-19 epidemic. However, many drug lines from abroad to Viet Nam via road (mainly from Laos and Cambodia), air, and express delivery (from some European countries) have been dismantled./.
