VGP - A new website that provides continual medical education in the area of HIV/AIDS, the first of its kind in Viet Nam, has been recently launched, to help healthcare professionals stay abreast of the latest trends in HIV healthcare.

Funded by the US President’s Emergency Plan for AIDS Relief (PEPFAR), and supported by the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) in collaboration with the Ha Noi Medical University and the University of Washington, the website (http://elearning.hmu.edu.vn/cme) consists of modules developed by Vietnamese HIV experts and includes video and audio lectures, which local physicians and other healthcare workers can access 24-hours a day.

Online content will cover critical areas such as HIV/TB co-infections, the side effects of antiretroviral treatment, and new approaches to HIV testing and counseling needs, as well as looking at case studies of people infected with HIV, with a specific focus on Viet Nam.

Through PEPFAR and CDC, the US has committed more than US$ 10 million over the past two years to train and support Viet Nam’s health professionals to combat HIV and strengthen health systems.
