Dong Nai: 99.7% of people on ARV treatment have viral suppression
VGP – As of the end of September 2020, 99.7% of all people on ARV treatment in the southern province of Dong Nai have had undetectable levels of HIV in their body, known as viral suppression, 2.3% exceeding the set plan.
Dong Nai Province’s Center for Disease Control joined hands with the LIFE Center and the Global Fund to Fight AIDS to review the outcomes of HIV/AIDS prevention and control in 2020, and discuss visions in 2021.
According to the statistics, by late August 2020, as many as 1,500 drug addicts, 1,800 prostitutes and 1,100 men who have sex with men were recorded in the province. HIV carriers were present at all districts.
The province reported that 89.1% of people living with HIV knew their HIV status and 89.9% of people who knew their status are on HIV treatment.
The locality is home to nine Methadone treatment centers, providing treatment for 1,200 drug addicts and HIV/AIDS carriers.
